Metal Finishing Solutions has selected Robinson, Texas for its next facility. The $20 million capital investment project will create 80 new jobs in the Greater Waco region of Central Texas. This project also represents the second tenant in the Robinson Business Park announced in recent weeks.
“We’re really excited to be expanding our metal finishing operations to Texas. Our new facility in Robinson will primarily focus on the electric vehicle market and will greatly expand our capacity for conversion coating solutions that are a critical part of the car manufacturing process,” said Michael Laptalo, Owner/President of Metal Finishing Solutions. “It will also feature our first e-coating line which we plan to aggressively expand to meet our growing customer demand around the country. We look forward to establishing our manufacturing footprint in Texas. Our new Robinson site is well positioned to become our strategic location to fuel the next stages of our growth and expansion.”
The Robinson Business Park was selected due to its prime Texas location along Interstate 35 and its proximity to Metal Finishing Solutions’ growing customer base. Upon completion, expected in 2025, the facility will have more than 110,000 square feet of manufacturing space.
Coupled with the recently announced Walmart Manufacturing project, the Robinson community is optimistic about the growth in this part of McLennan County.
“We’re looking forward to a longstanding partnership with Metal Finishing Solutions,” said Robinson Mayor Bert Echterling.
As a resident of Robinson for more than 40 years and a former superintendent of the Robinson Independent School District, McLennan County Commissioner Jim Smith noted the significance of MFS’s decision to select Robinson for its operation.
“This is very special,” said Smith. “McLennan County will hold up our promises and go above and beyond to make MFS happy they chose this site.”
